I'm Sorry

I made it safely to my home town sans tickets. The drive is only about 2.5 hours, so it's not that bad. Beautiful weather and not too much traffic made it a good drive.

I love watching videos on Youtube. I am subscribed to a lot of people on there. One of those who I am subscribed to is a guy that goes by the name futureactorjon. He recently made a video titled "I'm Sorry". It's a great video that touched my heart, and I thought that I would share it with you. If you would like to leave him a comment or just check out his other videos, visit his Youtube channel here.

My Blog, My Life

I haven't posted a blog in a while. I have been wanting to, but I just don't know what to blog about. This one is going to be a bit random and kinda jumping in different directions.

Lets see....I've been busy listing new bracelets. I have listed 5 bracelets a day for the past 3 days. That's 15 new bracelets in my shop. I am so excited to be listing my new bracelets. I am not too sure on how many more I should be listing. I don't really want my shop to have too many pages. Right now it's at 42 items on 2 pages. Is that enough for now? Should I wait until I sell some before I start listing more?I don't know.

I was up early today checking my twitter, and I saw that Wendi Friesen from WendiTv was asking questions about the amount of calories in different kinds of restaurant foods. One of the foods was the Awesome Blossom. So I googled it and found out that it has , hold on to your seats, 2710 calories. Can you believe that. I think that's crazy. Anyways, because I was the first to answered her question correctly, I won a $20 gift certificate good towards anything and wendi.com. She is a clinical hypnotherapist and has a lot of cool stuff on her site. She also does free hypnosis online shows at wendi.tv or at stickam .I don't know yet what I will be using the gift certificate for. Thanks Wendi

I finally got my referral appointment. I was referred to a neurosurgeon here in San Antonio. Because my doctor is in my home town, I need to go back there and pick up my referral papers and my MRI films, so I can bring them with me to my appointment with the neurosurgeon. I will probably leave on Wednesday, spend time with the family for a while, and come back on Sunday. My appointment here in SA is on Tuesday. I am so nervous. I don't know what to expect from this doctor. Will he be able to help me? Do I really need to have surgery? We'll see when the time comes.

I also made a short video of my new bracelets that I have been posting. Check it out and let me know what you think.

For tomorrows blog, I am going to share a video which I think is interesting. More info on that tomorrow.

My Blog, My Story

What a great day. I spent most of the day plopped in front of the TV watching Obama's inauguration. It was nice. Before I start my story, I just wanted to wish littlepapoose's a Happy Birthday. I'm glad I met you in the Etsy chats. I hope all your birthday wishes come true!

Ok, on to the story.

During the winter break, I usually go back to my home town for a couple of weeks to spend Christmas, my mom's birthday, and New Years with my family. I brought my bracelets and material with me just in case I get a sale or custom order. I am glad I did this, because I got some sales during my break. Ok, so time with the family was great, but it was time to get back to San Antonio. I pack all my stuff in my car. I have a 2 door hatch back that does not have a lot of space, so I have to pile everything in the back seats. I say everything because I always go back with more than I came with. I also had my pet rats with me. I had them in a small travel cage in the front seat, and their larger living cage folded and put in the trunk area. I say trunk area, because what ever trunk space I have is filled up by a large speaker box. So I have everything packed and ready to go.

Before I go on, I should mention that in between my home town and SA there is what is called a Immigration Check Point. For those of you that don't know what this is, let me explain. In the middle of nowhere, there is point on the highway were all vehicles must come to a stop while U.S Border Patrol agents ask you questions. These questions can be anything from where are you going to/coming from, what is your citizenship, where do you work, etc. They also have a narcotic detection dog which sniffs around your car while you are stopped. (I told you there was a dog involved)

So I arrive at the checkpoint and the BP agent asks all these questions: where are you going to, why, what school do you go to, where do you work, and then, what is your citizenship. Then I was asked to open my trunk. I pressed the button, then he ask me to pull over to the side. Oh great, here we go. So I pull over and wait. Four agent come up to my car. One asks me to turn off my car and get out. I do.

He asks me if I have any weapons or anything sharp in my pockets. I answer no.

Another agent come up to me and escorts me away from my car. As I limp away, another agent asks me if they can search my car. I answer, sure, go ahead. So they start looking through all my stuff, and then they put the dog in my car. The dog alerts them to something in my back seat.

One of the agents searching my car says to me, " I see here that you are advertising that you make hemp bracelets (I have those magnet signs), do you smoke marijuana. I answer no. (I'm a nerd,I have never done elicit drugs, I don't even drink alcohol). Then he asks, "Has anyone that smokes marijuana been in your car". I answer, no.

I see him pick up something off the floor of my car, hold it up to his face, and then shows it to another agent. The only thing that I have on the floor of my car is dirt and old leaves, and food particles(sometimes I eat in my car, so what). Maybe he thought one of the leaves was a marijuana leaf.

Then the agent with the dog opens my trunk and allows the dog to jump on my bumper and in my trunk to sniff around.

After all this, and not a damn thing found, I am told have a great day. They didn't even close the trunk for me.

So I have no idea what the dog was detecting. Here is a list of what I think it may have been.
  • rats
  • left over food (BBQ meats)
  • hemp twine
  • Hemp seed oil
  • Rx drugs
I don't even know if any of those would alert the dog. But oh well. And this was the second time this has happened to me. Maybe it was being a young Hispanic with a nice car. I don't know.

So that is my story. Thanks for reading.

My Blog, My Life

Not much of a blog today.

I have been waiting for almost two weeks to hear from a back specialist from a referral. I have not gotten a call from my doctor or a back specialist, so today I decide to call my doctor to see what is going on. I ask the receptionist, she pulls my file and there is no order for a referral. She then transferred me to the head nurse. She pulls my file and tell me that the referral is still pending. I asked her how long it would take, and she told me she would try tomorrow. This kind of sounds like they put my file away and just forgot to make the call. To make sure this does not happen again, I will be calling my doctors office again tomorrow. I'm in pain and can barely walk, but take your time.

In other news, I will be heading back to San Antonio tomorrow, probably after watching Obama's inauguration. I'm going to try and take some photos of some new bracelets so I can list them on Etsy. I have a couple of them that are great for Valentine's Day.

For tomorrows blog, a story involving me, the US Border Patrol, and a dog. Sounds interesting, doesn't it?

Poem: Can I Tell You

No blog from me today. Just a poem that I stumbled upon and thought I would share it. Let me know what are your thoughts after reading it.

Can I Tell You

Mother how can I tell you ?
that I am gay
would you turn your back?
and walk away
for I was the little boy you
use to hug and tuck in bed,
for I do not feel shame
but want you to love me the same,
people look at me with only shame
for my life is not the same
for love comes in many different ways
and I am hoping you could understand
and love me the same
for I am the little boy you use to tuck in bed..

So please don't walk away
and hold me in your arms
and tell me you can understand
for I can not take life
if you turn your back and walk away
for life is already hard because I am gay
and people and my family cannot understand,
but I do need you to stand by my side
and give me strenght ,
for I am still your little boy who needs
you in so many ways..

Author's Note: alot of kids find it very hard to tell there parents or family nemebers that they are gay ,scare they may not be accepted by there family nemebers...
To love someone is to accepted the things they do and for who they are no matter if you feel it may be wrong ,love should be strong and accept the person for who they are no matter what or how you may feel is there happiness you seek..

Hemp Oil Salt Scrubs!!!

Ok, this was supposed to be posted on Saturday, 1-17-09, but I started doing stuff that took longer than expected and whatever, here is my post, haha.

I want to blog a bit about my Hemp Oil Salt Scrubs. These scrubs are just so great for the skin. I just love the way my skin feels after I use the scrub. I use three different types of salt to help exfoliate your skin. This will help rub off all that nasty dry dead skin from your body. While the salt is doing it's thing, my special blend of oils will moisturize and rejuvenate your skin, making it feel silky smooth.

Now, the main honcho in this scrub is the hemp oil. This oil is good in so many ways. First, it contains all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary for human life. Hemp oil has an ideal 3:1 ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 essential fatty acid, which closely resembles your skins natural lipids. Because of this natural resemblance, the oil is able to penetrate your skin and bring with it essential fatty acids. The oil does not just cover your skin. Its ability to penetrate the skin (and get into and around skin cells) will help neutralize the effects of dehydration and rejuvenate your skin.Using this salt scrub will help you keep your skin soft, smooth, and hydrated.

Now you may take a look at my scrubs and not like the color. I do not add any artificial colorings or preservatives to my salt scrubs. The yellow-green color of the salt scrubs come from the natural color of the oils that I use. I do have different scented scrubs and I have some that have no scents added, for that all natural feel.

Before I listed them, I gave some out to friends and family to "test" them out. I have gotten nothing but good comments about it. This salt scrub is great to have especially during the cold, skin drying winter months.

Yay for blog number Two....My life....now

First the bad news, then the story behind the bad news. Bad news: I have decided not to attend the spring school semester.

The Story: We start in the near past. Right before the fall 08 semester was wrapping up, I some how injured my lower back. To make an extremely long story shorter, right before the spring 09 semester , I was diagnosed with a herniated disk in my lower back. Not only do I have a herniated disk, but I also have a small tear in the disk right above it. During the winter break from school, I took a leave from work and did nothing but rest and try to heal. I was doing a lot better. The pain was still there, but a lot better than when I first noticed it. I had trouble walking but I could get around.

Ok, back to the present. The spring 09 semester started on Monday. It was hard walking from the parking lot to and around the school, but I survived. After the 2nd and 3rd day, I was in agony. I seemed to be getting worse every day. I talked to some family and friends, and they all agree that maybe I should hold off this semester until I can get my back treated. I really did not want to, knowing that I am so close to finishing, but I think I have to take care of my injury first. There is always summer school and next semester.

I am waiting for a referral from my doctor to a back specialist in San Antonio. Until then, I guess I have nothing to do but wait.

My First Blog

Ok, so this is my first post. I don't know yet what I will be blogging about. I think this will be a general type blog. Sometimes I will be talking about my Etsy shop, and other times, just about my life. More than likely there will be more post about whats going on in my world.

So, my short introduction: I am 24 years old and living in San Antonio, Texas. I am studying biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

I am also a gamer, not a hardcore gamer, but a gamer non the less. My console of choice is the XBox 360. If there is anyone out there that likes to play, add me to your friends list. My gamertag is GMikeD. I'm usually playing either Halo 3 or COD 4.

I have been making hemp bracelets for a couple years now, but have never actually sold them. I stumbled upon Etys and loved it. I'm still kinda new to Etsy, but so far it is going good. Just recently, I have added handmade Hemp Oil Salt Scrubs. I also plan on listing Hemp key chains.

Be sure to check out the other places I am at, like Myspace and Twitter.
